COUNCIL MINISTRIES
(alphabetically)

Communications Ministry

Highlighted as a critical need to establish along with 'Whitehorse', this ministry has broad oversight, including our evolving new Media and AV aspects.  This committee of church council oversees or coordinates many communication-related tasks, such as: The Weekly news, The Monthly news, emails, broadcasts, worship resources, worship rosters, 'Tech Learn & Share', websites, various media, social media, etc.

Facilities Mngt Ministry

This ministry (committee of church council) oversees all venues' property / facilities management.  They are assisted by experienced  property volunteers with solid knowledge of particular venues and able to assist local hirers.
The ministry has oversight over all property usage and hire, upkeep and general maintenance items - with our gratitude.
This ministry is not responsible for the sale, purchase or renovations of any existing venues, yet are involved in contributing their treasured expertise to congregational reviews on such topics.

Faith Development Ministry

This ministry (committee of church council) is overseeing and facilitating faith educational opportunities, such as: seasonal study groups, studies for those new to Christianity or religion, studies for those wishing to explore particular scripture books or topics, etc.

Finance Ministry

The church council is supported by a new Finance team (committee of church council), primarily consisting of past experienced treasurers, with access to accountants and or other appropriately skilled persons.

Justice And Mission Ministry

The JAM Ministry, committee of church council, was formed prior to the new congregation, as passionate members of all 3 venues met together for sharing this ministry.  They oversee matters from social justice and fairness, to our missional opportunities both locally and more broadly.
Two very significant ministries (sub-committees) are: Centre 81 Ministry; and Op Shop Ministry.
JAM is a deliberate typo: officially 'Mission & Justice'

JAMM : Centre 81 Mission

The 'Centre 81 Management' (Sub-Committee) of our JAM Ministry oversees all the planning and daily operation of our outreach drop-in centre, including our FoodBank that assists those in the community struggling to have food for their table.  See the Centre 81 page for more details.

JAMM : Kids Hope

Our congregation is blessed to have coordinators and many qualified mentors able to provide this very valuable community support program in one of our local primary schools.

JAMM : Op Shop Mission

The 'Op Shop Management' (Sub-Committee) of our JAM Ministry oversees all the planning and daily operation of our Op Shop.  The Op Shop mission exists so that all proceeds may be given to charities.
See the Op Shop page for more
details.

Pastoral Ministry

This new ministry (committee of church council) oversees the management and delivery of pastoral care, fellowship and hospitality.  This complex task continues to evolve as the ministry seeks new, effective and consistent ways to achieve it's goals.
See the Ministry Page for more details.

Worship Ministry

This ministry, committee of the church council, is intended to better support our existing worship arrangements, including lay leadership.
The ministry is not responsible for any future congregation and council determinations about types of worship, frequency and or location.
